E-Store Manager | CU Boulder ECEE

The ECEE E-Store provides electronic components, parts, and kits to students in support of ECEE Department lab courses. I sourced parts, evaluated their suitability from an inventory management perspective, and proposed alternatives. I oversaw the kit build process using student employees. I managed inventory and sales. Secondary roles included overseeing the department’s package receiving and helping manage the teaching labs.
R&D Technician | Suncast
Apr ’19 – Dec ’19
Suncast was a start-up developing a method to pipe natural sunlight into areas of buildings that lacked more conventional access. This was achieved using a solar tracker, lenses, an optical collector, and bundles of fiber optic cabling. Due to the high collected irradiance, this project required a high attention to detail and careful work as minor faults would lead to significant damage and fires. I was responsible for building optical assemblies, build and set-up of the solar tracker, and performing tests. I rewrote the control software’s network interface, reducing the power-on process from 5 minutes to less than 30seconds, and increasing command response time from 30 seconds to milliseconds. The project was deemed to have no marketabilty.
R&D Technician | Micro-G LaCoste
Jan ’16 – Jan’17
Micro-G LaCoste builds precision gravity sensors. I was brought on as part of a project to develop a gravity sensor to be lowered down bore-holes. The size, operating environment, and performance constraints necessitated a high quality of work. I was responsible for making changes to the PCBs as dictated by the engineers, developing and running tests of various assemblies, and managing the lab space.
Customer Service Lead | ChemaTox
Jun ’10 – Oct ’15
ChemaTox is a forensic toxicology lab that performed drug and alcohol testing for both prosecution and defense in criminal cases. I was hired into an administrative and customer facing role. During my time there, the company grew from 7 employees to over 50. I created adminitrative process and policy, trained new hires, oversaw many aspects customer service, was responsible for maintaing the chain of custody for evidence.
